Festival Season: Kerala

  • Onam is the most important harvest festival of Kerala and is an attraction for thousands of people within and outside the state. Ranging from four days to ten days, all the activities during this season are cantered around worshipping, music, dances, sports, boat races and ‘Sadhya’ (vegetarian feast.)
  • Aaranmula Vallam Kali
    The Aaranmula Vallam Kali (Boat Race) is conducted every year in the village of Aaranmula in the month of August, September. This river carnival is part of the Aaranmula Temple festival, this water sport festival is one of the most attractive in kerala. Venue: Pampa Lake, Aranmula (District Pathanamthitta)
  • Nehru Trophy Vallam Kali
    Nehru Trophy Vallam Kali (Boat Race), the annual water carnival at Punnamada Lake in Alappuzha is considered as the biggest snake boat race in the world.
  • Thrissur Pooram
    Thrissur is best known for its mammoth Pooram Festival, which is the most colourful and spectacular temple festival of Kerala. Thrissur pooram attracts thousands of tourists eavh year.
